Design and manufacture of Poka-Yoke fixtures under strict confidentiality criteria for the aerospace sector

Introduction

A leading aerospace company required engineering solutions that guaranteed maximum precision, repeatability, and efficiency in its processes. Problem

The client needed to manufacture Poka-Yoke type fixtures, which required the precise digitization of complex geometries for dimensional control and reverse engineering. The challenge was to capture the geometric information directly on-site and achieve manufacturing that ensured dimensional accuracy and concentricity between elements, while protecting the client's confidential data and specifications at all times.

Solutions Offered

Our company deployed a confidential technical solution that included:

• 3D scanning capturing the geometry of the component directly on site, without the need to remove the part from the plant.

• Reverse engineering application to process the data and obtain an accurate digital model, from which detailed plans ready for manufacturing were generated.

• Selection and acquisition of a solid engineering-grade nylon plate, a material chosen for its high mechanical and wear resistance, dimensional stability, low moisture absorption, and excellent machinability.

• Complete CNC machining performed in a single step (without rework or re-fixing) in a high-precision machining center, guaranteeing critical tolerances and the required surface finish.

Solution

The project concluded with the delivery of an optimized 3D model, aligned with CAD systems, ready for both dimensional analysis and manufacturing. The manufactured fixtures featured traceability and dimensional control in the 100% system.

With these results, we demonstrate that by combining engineering and precision, we can deliver solutions that drive our clients' engineering forward, while fully respecting the confidentiality of their operations.
